Learn from other instructors’ experience with using an electronic lab notebook platform in lab courses. This session, offered in collaboration with CUIT and the Columbia Libraries, will include an introduction to the software and how it differs from paper notebooks as well as why instructors might want to use it. Through the presentation and discussion of two electronic lab notebook case studies from Columbia classrooms, you’ll also get a sense of effective pedagogical strategies for using the platform as well as ways to build it into your existing courses. An optional half-hour hands-on lab will allow participants to try the software out for themselves and create a course.
