How can we engage somatic awareness and centering through movement practices? In this session, we will explore a variety of techniques for developing presence and somatic awareness through the use of labyrinths, walking meditation, and yoga. We will consider how these movement practices can influence and inform teaching and learning in your classroom.

The CTL invites current Columbia graduate students or postdocs to register for microteaching sessions. Microteaching sessions are gatherings of 3-4 participants and a facilitator. Participants take turns delivering short samples of instruction to each other, and offering each other structured feedback.
This workshop builds on lessons learned in the Introduction to Courseworks (Canvas) workshops. During the workshop, instructors will learn how to set up graded assignments, discussions, and quizzes; assign grades using speedgrader; and organize assignments by groups and weights.
Join a community of scholars interested in implementing case-based activities in their courses! The Implementation Lab is an informal work session for building case-based teaching and learning materials. You are invited to bring and workshop drafts (or ideas!) about implementing the case study method in your courses! As you have lunch, you can share materials and work with other members of your case-study community, forming a Columbia University community of practice.
In these workshops, CTL learning designers help instructors learn to manage course websites, use tools for collaboration, improve presentations, produce video lectures, and create innovative, multimedia-based assignments.
