Online Degree & Non-Degree Programs
Columbia University has expanded its online learning offerings through various degree programs, providing professional development opportunities and higher education. Currently, the following disciplines include various online learning options:
In fall 2013, Columbia University partnered with Coursera to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), with the aim to contribute knowledge to the world, enhance teaching on campus by leveraging technology and digital media, and showcase the university’s programs and faculty. The University has offered MOOCs taught by world renowned faculty from The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, Arts & Sciences, the Medical School, and university affiliates—Barnard and Teachers College.
In March 2014, Columbia University announced a partnership with edX, and the launch of ColumbiaX. The University also designated a YouTube channel—Columbia Learn—as the repository for all Columbia MOOC video content.
