Abie Sidell is a Media Producer at the CTL. His responsibilities include creating media to support teaching and learning projects, programs, and events. Abie provides pre-production, production and post-production support across the entire project pipeline from development through to delivery.

Prior to joining the CTL, Abie worked as a freelance filmmaker, creating commercial content for clients including Facebook and Marvel Entertainment; educational videos for the New York State Department of Education, Smile Train and Transforming Faces; and music videos for indie artists like Stolen Jars. His work documenting cleft palate speech therapy provided Abie the opportunity to travel to Ghana and Ethiopia where he worked closely with Catherine Crowley, a professor of practice and the director of the Bilingual Extension Institute here at Teachers College.

In his free time, Abie writes and directs his own films. His last short film, Some of Her Parts, is currently making its way around the festival circuit. Abie also loves to cook and to bake, and just baked his friend’s wedding cake!
