Call for Applications: Lead Teaching Fellowship 
The Lead Teaching Fellowship is a professional development opportunity for doctoral students who are committed to promoting pedagogical practices and conversations among their peers. LTFs must be in years 2-7 of a doctoral program at Columbia University as of Fall 2020. Applications for 2020-21 Lead Teaching Fellows are being accepted through Monday, March 23
As a Lead Teaching Fellow, you will:
- Receive a stipend for designing workshops that respond to teaching-related needs and interests in your department.
- Connect to resources and programs at the CTL that can help you shape these workshops.
- Cultivate peer connections within an interdisciplinary cohort of Columbia graduate students committed to advancing teaching practices.
LTFs receive stipends of $2000 ($1000 at the end of each semester) upon the successful production of teaching-related events in their home departments, and the completion of a series of activities promoting communication between the CTL, other Fellows, and faculty and graduate student instructors in their home departments.

Syllabus from Scratch
Are you drafting a syllabus? Whether the syllabus is for the Teaching Scholars program, the academic job market, or a dream course in the future, join us to begin designing an effective syllabus from scratch. During the Syllabus from Scratch workshop, participants will learn about the elements of an effective syllabus, define course learning goals, and discuss assessments and grading that will promote student learning in their course. This workshop will run online

Assessing Teaching and Learning Seminar
The Assessing Teaching & Learning Seminar (ATLS) is an online intensive offered by the CTL to help participants create a plan to assess teaching and student learning in the classroom. Over the course of these four modules, participants gain an understanding of Teaching as Research (TaR) by defining an original research question and developing their own TaR project proposal, drawing on the support of an online community of peers and the instructor. The seminar culminates in the presentation of fully developed TaR proposals.
In Spring 2020, the Assessing Teaching & Learning Seminar (ATLS) will run online March 30 through May 8. Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 23. Get more details and access the application here
