Representing Your Teaching Summer Intensives | July 15-19

by | Jun 26, 2019

Wondering how to present your teaching on the academic job market? The CTL is hosting a week of events for grad students to learn about and begin drafting teaching-related documents with feedback and guidance. Representing Your Teaching Summer Intensives (RYTSI) will run from July 15-19. Come for one day, or come for all!

During RYTSI, students will focus on representing their teaching in different parts of the academic job application: teaching statements, teaching portfolios, syllabi, diversity statements, and teaching presentations.

Teaching Statement Online Workshop

This summer CTL is offering the Teaching Statement Online workshop (TSO), an online opportunity for current Columbia University doctoral students to learn about, write, and revise a teaching statement in order to enter the academic job market successfully.

The TSO lets you work from home or wherever you do your best writing. Working 2-3 hours per week for four weeks, participants step through the writing process — receiving multiple rounds of feedback from CTL staff and peers, and finishing with a completed teaching statement. The Teaching Statement Online workshop runs from July 15 – August 11, 2019.
