Inclusive Teaching Intensive for Faculty: Course Design to Include All Students

This is a moderate-level session designed for and open to faculty only. In a cohort of peers, you will meaningfully apply principles of inclusive teaching and learn how making changes to your syllabi, assessment strategies, and classroom activities can help foster an inclusive course climate for all students. You and your peers will workshop course materials (including course content, accessibility standards, and course policies) and commit to making changes to future practice.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Metacognition as a Tool for Equity in the Classroom (CUIMC)

Examining key research in cognitive development theory, participants will learn how to intentionally use metacognitive strategies that help build students’ awareness of themselves as learners. We will consider ways to incorporate metacognitive strategies into our teaching practices to equip students with the skills they need to maximize their learning. Register.

Facilitating Discussions in CourseWorks (Canvas): Effective Strategies for Engaging Classroom Conversation

In this workshop, we will explore uses for discussion in the classroom with a primary focus on using the CourseWorks (Canvas) discussion tool to enrich face-to-face and online discussion. This session is intended for faculty who have used the Canvas discussion tool or have participated in the CTL’s Courseworks (Canvas) offerings. Please bring your own computer! Register.
