Maximizing Student Participation

April 26, 2017
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Butler Library Room 212

Register.

Graduate student instructors are keen to increase their students’ participation in class discussions, lectures, or labs. But what constitutes meaningful class participation? And how are instructor actions actually connected to increased class participation? Come to this workshop to engage in a discussion about what effective student participation looks like and how you can increase your students? engagement with your course. You will leave this session with some strategies to try before, during, and after your next class meeting.

This workshop will be facilitated by Zitsi Mirakhur, a Ph.D. candidate at Princeton University (May 2017), and Graduate Fellow at the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning.
