As Director of CUIMC Faculty Programs and Services, Neria leads strategic initiatives and programs that enhance teaching and learning at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He oversees the development and implementation of faculty development programs, working closely with CUIMC leadership to advance educational innovation and excellence. With expertise in educational Leadership, technology, and adult learning, Neria is passionate about creating inclusive and effective learning environments that leverage cutting-edge pedagogical approaches.
Before joining Columbia, Neria was the Director of Technology-Enhanced Learning at the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Policy, leading innovative digital learning initiatives. He also held positions as an Associate Professor of Education at Seattle University. Neria holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master’s in Special Education from Fordham University and has been recognized as a Fellow in Microsoft and Seattle University’s Ethics in Artificial Intelligence program.
When not advancing teaching and learning innovation, Neria contributes to the academic community through his writing and research on educational technology and AI ethics in higher education. He avidly advocates for human-centered design and enjoys exploring the intersection of technology and inclusive education through his publications in academic journals and professional magazines. Neria is also a budding audiophile who loves jazz and an avid hiker who loves being outdoors in his spare time.
