Sam is a Learning Designer at the CTL who is passionate about creating fun, equitable, and empowering learning experiences. Primarily through the intersection of education and technology, Sam strives to engender intrinsic motivation, agency, and excitement within learners.
Prior to starting at the CTL, Sam attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education where he received his M.Ed from the Technology, Innovation, and Education program. Focusing specifically on studying different teaching styles, learning tools, and the overall impact of technology’s proliferation on society, Sam used this experience to inform the way he cultivates learning environments to be equal parts inclusive, engaging, and informative. He previously studied at Rollins College where he received his B.A in Computer Science. During this time, Sam was heavily involved within Florida’s Orange County Public School system supporting teachers and students in various capacities at local Title I schools. Through a grant from the Google IgniteCS program, he started up two after school coding classes that introduced students to the field.
In his recreational time, Sam enjoys reading, civic engagement, and music production.
