Writing can deepen student learning and engagement, but assigning writing can present a number of challenges for instructors. This workshop will review examples of effective writing assignments, strategies for developing students’ written communication, and best practices for grading assignments. Workshop activities will help participants understand the value of writing across disciplines and explore how various forms of writing can help meet teaching goals and enhance student learning. This workshop will be led by Dr. Amanda Jungels, Qualitative Project Lead, U.S. Army Public Health Center.
