Science of Learning Research Initiative (SOLER)

The Science of Learning Research Initiative (SOLER) is a developing hub for vibrant cross-disciplinary research that generates insights, informs practice, builds community, and establishes Columbia as a leader in the field.

The CTL-SOLER partnership reflects our mutual commitment to advancing the Science of Learning. We encourage faculty to engage with us as teacher-scholars who view their classrooms as valuable sites for research—spaces where they can generate new knowledge about learning while advancing understanding in their own disciplines. The CTL draws broadly on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning; SOLER complements this work by contributing local research insights from Columbia classrooms.
