Rebecca Petitti is Senior Assistant Director of Faculty Programs and Services at the CTL. Rebecca develops and facilitates professional development programming and services for faculty, postdoctoral, adjunct, and other instructors at Columbia. Through program facilitation and resource design, and drawing on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Rebecca is committed to helping instructors make their classes more accessible and inclusive.
Prior to joining the CTL, Rebecca worked with the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst General Education Council to support GenEd curriculum and teaching across campus. As the Coordinator for Junior-Year Writing at UMass Amherst, she supported writing instruction in the disciplines, facilitating workshops and developing resources for Junior-Year Writing faculty. Rebecca holds a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an M.A. in English from Northeastern University, and a B.A. in English from Bridgewater State University. Her research focuses on multimodal curriculum design and the role of campus stakeholder collaboration and engagement in the curriculum design process.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys visiting museums and parks, attending musicals, cooking and baking, or exploring the many restaurants and food trucks that NYC has to offer!
