Call for Applications: Active Learning Institute for Faculty
Are you a faculty member looking to increase student engagement in your course? Applications for the Active Learning Institute (ALI) are being accepted now through through Monday, May 7. The hands-on, three-day institute helps faculty transform their undergraduate and graduate-level courses into environments for participatory learning.
During the institute, faculty will explore the purposes and outcomes of active learning, and apply research-based practices to the process of developing active, learner-centered course units. Through a combination of hands-on activities, presentations, and discussions, faculty will work through the essential components of designing engaging student experiences. ALI also includes a hands-on lab experience facilitated by the CTL where faculty experiment with educational tools and software.
If you are interested, please apply by the May 7 deadline. ALI is open to Columbia faculty and designated graduate teaching assistants.
