Columbia’s Center for Teaching and Learning is holding orientation sessions in August for new and junior faculty on the Morningside Campus.

Orientations provide an opportunity for new instructors to:
- Get familiar with instructional resources on campus, procedures and policies, and methods for getting a class off to a good start.
- Connect with other first-time instructors as well as teaching support staff at the CTL.
- Explore topics such as teaching for the first time, active learning, grading strategies and rubrics, syllabus design, tools for teaching and learning, among others.
The dates for the Morningside Campus are below; there is another orientation event for faculty on the Medical Center campus on August 24. *The orientation session on August 31 will have an Introduction to Teaching in the Core session for junior faculty in the CoreCurriculum, presented in collaboration with the Center for the Core Curriculum and the Junior Faculty Advisory Board.
