Are your students doing their homework, but having difficulty applying material in class? In this one-hour workshop we will dive into questions like this and reimagine how we use the time between classes. In particular, we will discuss the educational and affective benefits of using technology to extend the classroom space, facilitate deeper learning outside the classroom, and prepare students to apply newly acquired material in the following class. Participants will come away with a set of criteria to evaluate the efficacy of digital platforms in our courses. Graduate students from all departments are welcome and encouraged to attend. This workshop will be facilitated by Ian Althouse, McDougal Fellow for Teaching and Learning at Yale Center for Teaching and Learning.
