
Levi Hord
Ph.D. Candidate, Department of English and Comparative Literature; CTL Teaching Consultant
Levi Hord (they/them) is in their sixth year as a PhD candidate in the Department of English & Comparative Literature. Before becoming a Teaching Consultant in 2025, Levi worked with the CTL as a Teaching Observation Fellow (2023-2024) and a Senior Teaching Observation Fellow (2024-2025), and has completed the Advanced Track of the Teaching Development Program. Levi has taught five semesters of University Writing (Gender & Sexuality) at Columbia, and has served as a TA for several classes at Columbia ranging from Introduction to Sexuality Studies to the History of Horror Cinema. They have also taught graduate-level methodology seminars in feminist theory at the University of Oxford. Levi is passionate about bringing trans, queer, and anti-racist pedagogy into university classrooms, and crafting learning opportunities that allow students to use their embodied knowledges as intellectual tools.
