The CUMC Summer Institute for Teaching and Learning typically takes place in June or July.

Who

This event is free and open to junior and senior faculty at the Columbia University Medical Center. Please note that priority is given to applicants who are junior faculty or senior faculty who have recently taken on a new teaching role.

Program Description

The Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) Summer Institute for Teaching and Learning is a daylong workshop devoted to exploring effective teaching and learning strategies in health sciences education. Since its inception in 2007, the CUMC Summer Institute has grown to become one of CUMC’s highly-anticipated professional development events. Our facilitators are experienced CUMC faculty and other faculty developers from the Medical Center.

The CUMC Summer Institute is designed for junior faculty and senior faculty taking on a new teaching role to develop their skills as educators, learn about interactive teaching techniques, and collaborate with other faculty across the campus.
